Ingredients
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 6 cups dry bread cubes
- 1 tablespoon parsley, snipped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 pint raw oysters, chopped
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- dash of pepper, to taste
- 1/8 cup reserved oyster liquor
- 1/8 cup milk
Instructions
- Cook bay leaf, celery and onion in butter until tender.
- Discard bay leaf.
- Add dry bread cubes and snipped parsley to butter mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Add eggs, oysters, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
- Add milk to oyster liquor to make 1/4 to 1/3 cup.
- Add enough liquid to stuffing to moisten.
