Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups Granulated Sugar
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3 cups cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 Large Eggs
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup Buttermilk

Preheat oven to 350F and grease two 9 inch round pans. Set aside.

In a large bowl sift together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Mix to combine. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer combine eggs, vanilla, oil, and milk mix until fully combined. Slowly add in dry ingredients. Mix until fully incorporated. Add in hot coffee, the mixture will be very thin. Pour evenly into prepared pans.

Bake for 25-30 minutes. Or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Set aside to cool completely, then wrap in plastic wrap and freeze overnight.

Maybe it's just me but this cake looks like a deluxe version of a dingdong snack cake to me. I've never been much of a big chocolate eater but I know several people that would really enjoy this beautiful dessert as a gift. It seems salted caramel is a pretty big deal these days, but I still can't wrap my head around it enough to try it...I love caramel but for some reason, the thought of adding salt doesn't make sense to me.

Another sinfully delicious dessert that is so irresistible for the sweet tooth like me. I love the taste of the salted caramel, it balances the very sweet taste of the caramel. I love this cake.
