Potatoes Boulangeres
"Boulangères, or baker’s potatoes are called ‘baker’s’ as back in the day in France folks didn’t have home baking facilities but took their pots of potatoes to the baker’s to cook in the bread-hot oven. Potatoes boulangeres are traditionally served with the rich beef stew – boeuf bourgignon. They are cooked simply, without cheese or cream, because a beef casserole is such a rich and flavorsome dish. So serve it with any meat casserole or stew, and the added bonus is they will cook in the oven at the same time."
